What gets checked

Five categories that decide if Google trusts your site.

Your website is the foundation under everything else — if it's slow, thin, or invisible to Google, even a perfect Google Business Profile is fighting uphill.

  • Speed. How fast your pages actually load on a real connection — and what's slowing them down, from oversized images to bloated plugins.
  • Mobile experience. Most local searches happen on a phone. I check whether your site is readable, tappable, and fast on one — not just 'technically responsive.'
  • On-page SEO. Titles, headings, and page copy: do your pages actually name the services and towns you want to rank for, or just say 'welcome to our website'?
  • Schema markup. The structured data that tells Google you're a local business — what you do, where you are, how to reach you. Most local sites have none.
  • Indexability. Whether Google can crawl and index your pages at all. A stray noindex tag or broken sitemap can make a whole site invisible.

How it works

Three steps, one business day.

Nothing to install, nothing to log into. I check your site from the outside — the same view Google has.

STEP 01

Request your check

Send the form with your website address. No login, no analytics access, no install — I check it from the outside, like Google does.

STEP 02

I check it by hand

I — Zach, not a crawler bot — run your site through the same technical checks I use on client sites, then verify every flag manually.

STEP 03

Scorecard in one business day

You get a plain-language scorecard by email: your grade, each category's score, and the fix list in priority order.

What you get

The short list, not the scary list.

  • A letter grade for your site overall, plus a 0–100 score for each of the five categories
  • The handful of fixes that matter most, ranked by impact on your rankings and your leads
  • Plain-language notes: what each problem is, why it costs you customers, and how to fix it
  • Specifics, not vagueness — the actual slow pages, the missing titles, the schema gaps
  • Straight advice on what's a quick DIY fix versus what needs a developer or a rebuild

This check covers your website only. For your whole local presence — profile, rankings, reviews, and website together — request the full free marketing audit.

And if the scorecard points to a site that needs rebuilding, that's what my web design service is for.

Is this a free automated SEO audit tool?
No — and that's deliberate. Automated audit tools flag hundreds of 'errors' that mostly don't matter, because they're built to look thorough and push you toward a paid plan. I run the checks by hand and send you the short list that actually affects your rankings and your leads. It takes up to one business day instead of ten seconds, and it's worth the wait.
How is this different from the free marketing audit?
This check is website-only and technical: speed, mobile, on-page SEO, schema, and indexability. The free marketing audit is the full visibility picture — your Google Business Profile, local rankings, reviews, and website together. If you specifically suspect your site is the weak link, start here. If you're not sure where leads are leaking, request the full audit.
What do you need from me?
Just your website address. I don't need your hosting login, your analytics, or any plugin installed — everything I check is visible from the outside, the same way Google sees it. If you tell me your main services and towns, I can make the on-page notes more specific.
What if the check finds serious problems?
Then you'll know exactly what they are and what fixing them involves. Some fixes are an afternoon of DIY and the scorecard explains how. If it's bigger — a site that's slow to its bones or was never built for SEO — that's what my web design service exists for. But the scorecard is yours either way, with no obligation.
